Cognac Cottages

We are friendly 'Kiwis' (New Zealanders) who have retired to the glorious Grand Champagne region of Cognac, France. Prior to this we lived aboard our Motor Yacht and travelled America's Great loop and the Gulf of Mexico and Eastern Seaboard, USA, for 6 years. Our international travels usually take in the

by-ways rather than the highways, and we thrive on interesting food, places and people. Photography, reading, music, art and architecture are special interests, and we love DIY. We are currently renovating our 'modern' (1960's) French home. As Travellers, we appreciate the comforts of home and the special touches that our many hosts have provided for us in the past. We seek to do the same for our guests. Previously active House/pet-sitters, we come highly recommended by all of our former hosts. In our early retirement we are challenging ourselves to learn to speak French and live 'The good life' here in this beautiful and friendly region. We always say, "Travel with a sense of humour, be self-deprecating, ask more questions, look up, and enjoy the moment and the people wherever you are". From our typical Charentaise limestone 'Maison de Vacances' (Holiday home) in the small towns of the Charente, you are spoilt for choices of where to go each day. We hope you will also take time out to enjoy a picnic under a shady tree on the banks of the nearby Charente River, or a coffee on the terrace of one of the cafés alongside the Courvoisier Chateau in Jarnac.
